Taja is currently the Founder/Managing Partner of Health Equity Capital, a venture capital fund with a mission to help underserved patients benefit from cutting edge advances in precision health. Prior to founding Health Equity Capital, Taja spearheaded commercial strategy efforts in oncology for Avastin®, one of Roche Genentech’s largest brands, was a strategy consultant at PwC Health Industries, and had a lead Corporate Business Development role at Bay Bio (now California Life Science Association). She launched her venture capital career at Bay City Capital, a life science venture capital firm with over 1.5B AUM. Prior to her career in venture capital, Taja led, for nearly a decade, digital health teams on the development and launch of cutting edge technologies for life science companies, including Novartis . She began her operations career at Apple Computer and later as an early stage employee at CNET Networks.
Taja holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Mills College (now, Mills College @ Northeastern University), where she was a Goldman Sachs Scholar. Taja is currently an Astia Advisor, and has served on numerous non-profit and advisory boards, including the California Life Science Racial and Social Equity Committee. She is a 2023 Northeastern University Innovation Award Winner, which recognizes her work for powering diverse and inclusive communities.
