Founder and Inventor

Rebecca Clark, PhD, MSN, RN, CNM, WHNP-BC is the founder and inventor of the MeaSure medical device which measures blood loss after birth accurately and in real-time. As a nurse-midwife, Dr. Clark recognized a need for a device to measure blood loss reliably and accurately to improve care and outcomes for women giving birth. Neither eyeballing blood loss, nor weighing pads and drapes, are sufficiently accurate and real-time to guide care. The MeaSure medical device is a solution to this problem. MeaSure - which is patent pending - has received FabNet funding from Ben Franklin Technology Partners, allowing the company to partner with NextFab for rapid cycle prototyping and refinement, and is currently in the process of writing an SBIR grant to the NICHD.
