Jason is an investor and operating executive with nearly 20 years of experience in identifying and building successful companies deeply entrenched in the deep understanding of healthcare policy. Sana Capital, a healthcare private equity firm focused on the healthcare information technology and healthcare services sectors. Sana [sah-nah] is the Latin word for heal and a Spanish synonym for a remedy. Sana Capital was founded to remedy the gaps in healthcare and invest in businesses that share its charter to increase access, improve outcomes, and reduce costs.
Jason previously co-founded Mansa Capital, a private equity firm that invested approximately $50 million in early-stage innovative companies in the healthcare sector. He developed value creation strategies and operational improvements for investments. Jason worked closely with management to grow customers, expand products and reduce risk. He led the efforts to build the company infrastructure including accounting, reporting, auditing and investor relations. He has served on the Board of Directors of several businesses, including a healthcare integration and implementation consulting company; a prescription cost containment company; and as Director for a healthcare screening business. Jason also served as a Board Observer for both a managed long-term care business and a remote patient monitoring platform for the elderly.
Jason has a distinguished history of public service. He has served on many boards both nationally and regionally. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Comunilife, a not-for-profit organization that provides health and human services and a continuum of supportive housing. Jason also served on the Board of Directors of Acacia Network, a large community-based organization that offers the full spectrum of services in healthcare, housing and substance abuse.
Jason received a B.S. in Information Systems & Finance, magna cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is a Kauffman Fellow – an innovation, leadership, and venture capital focused program.
