After dropping out of college in his home country, Belarus, Andrei came to Philadelphia, USA, in 2002 with only $100 in his pocket, a backpack, and a dream. He randomly chose a bus that brought him to an unknown place where he ended up wandering the streets of North East Philly, knocking on people’s doors asking for a temporarily overnight stay. It was a start of a new life from scratch, with no friends, no relatives, no college degree, no connections, nothing but hope.
By now, 19 years later, he has achieved his American Dream, and it’s his turn to help other people in need, those who have nothing to their names but a backpack and a dream. That’s how Growic idea was born.
