A new, growing national network of independent loan, equity, and real estate funds and entrepreneur support organizations are working to create lasting community wealth with the Inclusive Capital Collective (ICC). Its purpose is to overcome systemic racism through equitable access to capital and a need to support BIPOC entrepreneurs and build community wealth. In June 2021, in commemoration of the African American Freedom Day known as Juneteenth, the ICC released “Building Community Wealth: Shifting Power and Capital in Real Estate Finance” the first of a series of Black Papers (not White Papers) written by and for practitioners that illuminate the systemic barriers in financial markets, focusing on specific areas and segments that are ripe for interventions by investors interested in deploying their resources for social justice. We invite you to learn more from the authors.
