Laura Splan will give an artist talk on her interdisciplinary work that intersects science, technology, and craft. Her conceptually based projects mine the materiality of biotechnology to reveal poetic subjectivities, hidden systems, and invisible labor. She is currently a remote artist-in-residence with the Science Center’s BioArt Residency where she is collaborating with uCity Square resident, Integral Molecular. Splan will present recent projects including her creative research and experimental digital animations incorporating SARS-CoV-2 molecular models.
