We are excited to announce the upcoming “Art for Social Change Experience: Reimagining the Black Community” event, hosted by Philm Factory in collaboration with Venture Café and Eli Lu Entertainment. Due to limited capacity in the space, attendance for this event will be by pre-registration only.
The event will be separated into two parts:
PART 1 – Philm Factory Art for Social Change Presentation (5-6pm):
Join us on the 2nd Floor for an unforgettable evening exploring “Reimagining the Black Community Through New Lenses.” Experience the incredible talent of the “Take One” Youth Film Program, captivating performances by SiSi Dash and Tyree the Poet, and the recognition of Cass Green and Ryan Harris through our Community Awards. Senator Hughes will deliver a heartfelt Welcome Address, setting the stage for an inspiring journey.
PART 2 – Black Terror Synopsis Film Screening & Town Hall Panel Discussion (6-8pm):
On the 2nd Floor, we present the exclusive “Black Terror” Synopsis Film Screening & Town Hall for mature audiences (18+). Delve into the thought-provoking world of “Black Terror,” directed by Richard Lawson and adapted from Richard Wesley’s influential 1971 play. After the screening, join director Richard Lawson and special guests for a dynamic panel discussion expertly moderated by Eli and Lu Bevins of Philm Factory.
This is an opportunity to engage in insightful discussions, witness transformative art, and collectively reimagine the future of the Black community.
Please note that these sessions require pre-registration to attend.
