Join us for a presentation featuring the Independence Business Alliance with a spotlight on the accomplishments of their members. The Independence Business Alliance (IBA) is the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Philadelphia region. The IBA provides opportunities, access and resources to LGBTQ+ professionals and allies, and promotes economic development, growth, diversity and leadership in our community. River Nice: Founder & CEO of Be Intentional Financial Matt Tinney: Founder & CEO of Windows Management Experts Zach Wilcha: Executive Director at Independence Business Alliance Donald Woodring: Founder & CEO of Mentorship.club Zach Wilcha is, in every sense, a leader in Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ community. As the first-ever Executive Director of the Independence Business Alliance--the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, Zach has cultivated programs such as the Intersections initiative, TransWork, and Emerging Queer Leaders. He is a founding member of Philadelphia’s Community Leadership Pipeline Initiative, which trains and places folks from marginalized LGBTQ+ communities onto Philadelphia-area nonprofit Boards. A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, he graduated with a B.A. in International Relations from Saint Joseph’s University and a Juris Doctor with honors from Villanova Law School. An attorney, activist, and fundraiser, Zach speaks regularly on issues such as LGBTQ+ affairs, fundraising and development, and diversity, inclusion, and equity. Bringing a rare combination of corporate, business, and legal skills to the issues facing marginalized communities, he also organizes for change at the grassroots level. It is little wonder he was named 2019 Person of the Year by the Philadelphia Gay News and received a Philadelphia 76ers Game Changer Award. Matt Tinney is Founder and Chairman of Windows Management Experts, Inc., and loves working with new Microsoft technologies to create innovative solutions that will save clients both time and money. Matt is passionate, open minded, and loves working with others. Matt believes first and foremost in getting to the heart of what matters. He takes the time to listen and focuses on the quality of the entire customer experience. His client satisfaction reviews are reliably and consistently strong. Matt is passionate about diversity in technology and an advocate for the LGBTQ business community. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his husband Christopher and twin sons Nicholas and Topher, traveling, expanding his knowledge in technology and supporting others with their goals. River Nice: earned a bachelor’s in computer science with the goal of enjoying a practical career in web development. They worked in tech for a while, but after the 2016 US presidential election, they realized that they didn’t care enough about building websites to remain in that career. They took a step back and looked for a need that existed in the community that they could fill, and found that not a lot of folks felt confident in budgeting, paying down debt, or working toward their financial goals. River started working at a small practice under a national broker-dealer in July 2017. They completed the Series 66 and Series 7 and started working with their own clients. In January 2019, River decided that it was time to leave the broker-dealer, come out as transgender, and start their own firm. By July 2019, they had changed their name to River and pronouns to they/them, and launched Be Intentional Financial! Donald Woodring is the Founder of Mentorship.CLUB. Don Woodring is the luckiest guy in the world, having overcome many obstacles in achieving what he has to date. One of the greatest gifts he’s received in his life is the access to mentors that he had to assist him in his professional development. He has always been enormously grateful for the mentorship that he has received from some of the best business minds in the United States. His mentors were Bruce Edwards, the former CEO of the $14 billion company, DHL/Exel Supply Chain, Ron Whitaker, the former CEO of Colt Manufacturing and current Chairman of Ruger, Bill Berkley, the Founder, former CEO and Chairman of WR Berkley, a Fortune 500 company as well as Bob Neary, the former Co-Chairman of Ernst & Young. Don became the country manager of Mexico at age 29 and then the CEO of a public company at age 39. After the successful sale of that public company, Don started a company, Latinos.org at 49 and now has embarked on this venture, Mentorship.CLUB. Don has never forgotten some of his roots. He always says that you will not reach your destination by looking in the rearview mirror. You can only arrive at your destination by looking through your windshield. But it is very important and healthy to occasionally look at your rearview mirrors and side mirrors. He is extremely passionate about assisting others and certainly hopes that he can change some people’s lives through this process.
