ABOUT THE SESSION

(Link will go live on 05/27/21)

Philadelphia artist Natalie Hijinx invites you (yes, you!) to join the conspiracy and get initiated into her explorations of radical absurdity, looming danger, inevitable heartbreak, and the cosmic consequences of internalized capitalism. Obsessively researched, Hijinx’s recent body of work is based on speculative futures and worst-case scenario alternate universes. These elaborate projections are puzzled together from social and political failures, the impending climate disaster, the amorality of AI, declassified government experiments, conspiracy theories, and the logical outcomes of widely-held Sketchy Ideas. Hijinx recently completed a residency at Pink Noise Projects in Philadelphia. Her work was featured in Sculpture Magazine in 2019 and she was a 2018 Fellow of the Delaware Public Humanities Institute (DelPHI) in Material Culture Studies.
