Agosto | Popular media often portrays young people today as technology enthusiasts and experts, growing up in an information world that is vastly different from the largely analog world of their parents and grandparents. What’s the REAL story of today’s youth and information literacy? Based on over 20 years of research with young people and digital technology, Drexel University’s Prof. Denise Agosto will explain the real story of literacy and information use for young people growing up in the U.S. today.

Craig Schroeder (IT), Tom Penn (Life Sciences), John Moore (Environmental /Social Impact), and Ellen Weber (General) of Robin Hood Ventures are celebrating their 20th anniversary by hearing pitches (first come, first served). Robin Hood Ventures over the past 20 years has invested in 75 companies and two funds, primarily in the Philly region. They’ve invested over $35 million dollars and have averaged over $3 million a year in each of the past 3 years. RHV membership started with 11 people but has grown to 55 members as of the end of August.

From agricultural robots to electric cars; drones to droids; come meet some of the #PhillyMakerFaire makers: Augean Robotics, Fly Like a Boss, Mid-Atlantic Droid Makers, Mr. G, Temple Formula Racing, Princeton Soccer Robots, TEECS NASA Projects / World Championship Robotics, and The Drone Workshop.
  • 6:00-7:00pm Center for Advancing Innovation Startup Challenge Live from Winston-Salem Venture Cafe! |  We’ll be live-streaming a talk by Rosemarie Truman, the CEO of The Center for Advancing Innovation’s startup challenge, as a preview for her Venture Cafe Philly session next week on team formation.
