Thursday Gathering (04/11)

April 11 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC-5

(Un)natural state | 04/11 Program

  • 3:15-4:15pm Becoming (Un)Natural I Founder and former investment banker, Edisa Rodriguez, takes us through the early hurdles of starting a company for the first time when you’re coming from a traditional work environment. The old rules don’t apply anymore and adjusting to what feels (un)natural can be the key to finding success.
  • 4:00-4:45pm (Un) Natural Content Creation I Does your brand use digital content as part of its strategy? Have you struggled with the balance of executing what your brand needs to succeed, while broadcasting what you do? Join educator and content producer André W.Y.Z.E. as he discusses the difference between documentation and creation of digital content.
  • 4:30-5:30pm Product-Market Fit | Technology teams cite a myriad of reasons for epic failure rates. Each reason can be traced back to a missing detail on the user. The popular blueprint for product development, centered around Product-Market Fit (PMF) as an inflection point, is misguiding. This presentation uses professional experiences and real-world case studies to introduce a new conceptual framework to supplant PMF. Led by Lindsay Tabas.
  • 5:15-6:00pm Data: how you’re lost in translation I Is your information making more money than you. Technology is intersecting our lives at every point, but do these tools have ulterior motives? From the time we are born, Data is constantly being collected on us.  The information available is virtually limitless due to the integration of technology. Has this become our natural state or is there a way to untangle ourselves from the big data machine? Led by Dan Clark.
  • 5:30-6:00pm  Maximizing Your Venture Café Experience I First time at a Thursday Gathering or want to learn how make the most of your experience? Come hear from ambassador Grace Powers.

  • 5:45-6:30pm How to make understanding the law feel less (un)natural for creatives, entrepreneurs and business owners. I For business owners and creatives, the law can feel like a burden and not an asset but when you have your entity and intellectual property protected, you become much more valuable. Karl Fowlkes, an attorney, and disrupter for creatives and entrepreneurs will break down your core protections and answer those tough questions related to Intellectual Property, Corporate Structure and more.
  • 6:30-7:30pm A record investment of 1.4 billion dollars, what’s next? | PACT President and CEO Dean Miller walks us through the newest report by PitchBook and PACT for an overview of investments in Philadelphia and what’s next.
