Bold Latinx Leaders: National Hispanic Heritage Month Panel Discussion

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, please join us for a panel discussion showcasing the driving force behind Philadelphia’s growing Latinx community.

The panel will include Shannon Morales, DJ Krebsbach, Ivonne Martinez, & Esteban Romero. 

Shannon Morales is a passionate Startup Founder/Operator, Innovation Enthusiast, and Diversity Consultant. She has successfully launched three businesses and finds that the best ideas are generated during times of ambiguity and chaos. Shannon takes on impact driven missions and look to create competitive advantages through modern product features, community partnerships, and integration of emerging technologies.

Currently the Founder and Operator of Stealth.ify; an app that uses geospatial technology and predictive analytics to show levels of risk for contracting Covid19 based on someone’s location. Interactive map features, real time foot traffic of essential stores, and a modern UI design that sets our product apart from the rest.

Founder of Echo Me Forward; an easy to use platform that connects equitable employers to skilled diverse talent in tech and beyond. By streamlining the community outreach, candidate screening, and skills matching process we enable employers to find the right fit in a shorter time. Echo Me Forward is a proud PSL accelerated company. Currently in the All Raise Bootcamp for Female Founders.

DJ Krebsbach is the Chief of Staff to Boomi’s CEO, Chris McNabb. DJ oversees a team focused on the entire enmployee lifecycle, community service, facilities, culture, diversity and inclusion, and employee resource groups at this fast growing, industry leading business. She architected the Boomi Onboarding Solution, which drove millions of dollars in savings and is currently almost ready to launch her own technology platform. She also spearheads the Boomi Veteran’s Academy, a training program which not only provides job specific technology training, but a mentorship program to ensure veterans are placed in jobs upon graduation.

Ivonne Martinez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Manufacturing Engineering and a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma Certification from the University of Texas Pan-American. She is the Founder and CEO of Steel Chic, a fashionable women’s safety shoe company that focuses on safety, fashion, and comfort. Her work experience ranges from Continuous Improvement Engineer, Project Management, Process Engineer, and Quality Engineering.

Throughout her professional career, she has had the opportunities to work in the card manufacturing industry, industrial sensors manufacturing industry, residential home construction industry, and biomedical industry. 

Ivonne is passionate about promoting STEM careers to younger generations as well as encouraging them to pursue their dreams. She believes that representation matters, and as a Latina, woman engineer, and entrepreneur she hopes to be of inspiration to others to take that step forward on pursuing their dreams.

Esteban Romero is a GIS professional and sociologist with over 15 years of research experience, performing spatial analysis and GIS business analysis for a variety of organizations. He holds a PhD in Sociology, and a MA in Geography. He has taught and done research in several institutions including Morehead State University in Kentucky, West Chester University, and Jefferson University in Pennsylvania.  He earned his Master’s degree in Geography from West Chester University in 2010, after which he worked as the GIS Manager until 2017, serving as a consultant on a wide variety of projects with administrators, faculty and students.  Before joining Hopeworks he worked in the non-profit sector on education projects for underserved Latinos in Norristown, and food security issues in Philadelphia.
