ICYMI Recap from 04/09 #VCvirtualJAWN
From emergency resources from UCD to touring an artist’s studio to Pretotyping, here’s a look at some of the highlights from the 04/09 #VCvirtualJAWN:
- University City retailers and restaurants being impacted by the pandemic can apply for relief funds here. Have questions? Contact smallbiz@universitycity.org. How else can UCD help? Take the survey and give your feedback.
- Philly artist, Cindy Stockton Moore showed us how to make your own charcoal. She’ll be back next week to talk about the Velocity Fund to support artists.
- Roger Harvey paid tribute to John Prine, during Venture Café After Dark, sponsored by CIC.
- Our Director of Business Incubation and Accelerator Programs, Karina Sotnik explained the real reason why McDonald’s in the U.S. left spaghetti off their menu, during a Pretotyping session
- Practice Pitch continues every week, and St. Louis was there to represent!
- Karen Barnes, Executive Director from Venture Café Winston- Salem led a toast themed around “Break it and remake it.” In a hilarious turn, we raised a collective glass for the singles who don’t have to put up with anyone while quarantining, and those of us who are attached raised a glass to the partners that put up with us.
